1159. Foulksmills

Foulksmills, the scenes of encounters during the 1798 Rising. Longgraigue House near Foulksmills was the site of Sir John Moore's camp; from it he advanced to intercept fugitives from the Battles of New Ross and Enniscorthy.

1160. Gorey

Gorey, which is situated midway between Dublin and Wexford, is an ideal centre for the holiday-maker who wishes to gain easy access to the numerous beaches of the area. The town has a modern layout and is an ideal shopping centre. Molumney Art Centre is open daily in summer. At the western end of the town is Gorey Hill (418 feet), a camping place of the 1798 insurgents before their march on Arklow.
